In 1960s Yorkshire, Working-class farmhand Geroge stops going to rehearsals for an amateur staging of the York Mystery Plays. Middle-class Londoner John, the Assistant Director, tries to convince him to come back. George strains against his roots as a new world with John opens up to him. A tender and complex love story between two young men of very different backgrounds. Exploring the rival forces of family, class and longing.
